Divas and Donuts

Divas and Donuts

Join me on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 1 - 4 PM for a new masterclass series, Divas and Donuts with the Potomac Vocal Institute in Alexandria, VA.

"While we all enjoy our fancy masterclasses, it’s time to get sugared up and down to work. This year, we are hosting some of the opera world’s most exciting artists in an very informal question and answer/ masterclass setting. Don’t be fooled: just because the class is casual, the work won’t be. These ladies are at the very top of their fields and will put you through the paces!

Singers will be chosen from the PVI studios, but the events are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend! Fee for singers and attendees is only $20; please register so that we know you are coming!"

Visit potomacvocal.com to register. Hope to see you there!

It's so GREAT to be back in Beijing...

It's so GREAT to be back in Beijing at the National Center for the Performing Arts!!

This production of Il Trovatore is one of the finest I have ever done! My debut at LaScala in 2000 was with the FABULOUS STAGE DIRECTOR HUGO DE ANA!!! That production was FANTASTIC...... BUT this is even more FABULOUS than that one! AND THIS ONE IS ALSO HUGO DE ANA'S!!!!!

HUGO is a GENIUS......TRULY! His productions are detailed and almost as though you are watching a film! This production is also like a film! He uses projections and lighting that is PHENOMENAL!!!

It such a pleasure working with him! And then add Daniel Oren as our Maestro and a VERY FINE CAST...... ITS BOUND TO BE AGAIN A HUGE SUCCESS!!!

Here are some fun photos of us having a BLAST at rehearsal.

The next day, we were waiting for our limo to take us to the SITZPROBE for Trovatore! But it was late! And I was worried about making my vocalise, so the guys distracted me by taking photos!!! Claudio Sgura my baritone, Conte di Luna and Max Bullo our coach!!!

Having such a GREAT time!!!!

Please join me in helping to raise funds for the NEUROFIBROMATOSIS CLINICS ASSOCIATION

This is the Pittsburgh based charity helping all of the children and adults who have been diagnosed with this HORRIBLE DISEASE! Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that disturbs cell growth in your nervous system, causing tumors to form on nerve tissue. These tumors may develop anywhere in your nervous system, including in your brain, spinal cord and nerves. Neurofibromatosis is usually diagnosed in childhood or early adulthood.

My dear, sweet, 13-year-old niece Mary Kate was diagnosed at the age of 2 years old! She said to me a couple of months ago, "Mimi everyone supports the Heart association, the Cancer Foundation, and many others like these, and that's really great, BUT no one knows about NEUROFIBROMATOSIS!!!!" She said, "We have to do something, and Mimi YOU are the only one that can help to raise awareness!"

So I am reaching out to all of you around the globe!
Here is the link to the NFCA's donation page.
All currencies are accepted.

I ALONG WITH MARY KATE AND MANY OTHERS AFFLICTED WITH THIS DISEASE WILL BE SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!!!
